@bumpus In the beginning, as we come out, we need to keep track of who knows what—to maintain records of our different manifestations across social contexts—but there will be a line you will cross, eventually, where that stops, and you are just you, and everyone else has to update _their_ records of who you are, as you grow and change—all that bookkeeping delegated.

...can you possibly avoid this horrifying situation? Be sure to have some cucumbers ready if you meet a kappa as it's their favourite treat and can distract them long enough to allow you to escape. Alternatively, a deep bow should do the trick. Out of politeness, kappa will bow in return and the water will run out of the bowl-like dip on their heads, causing them to lose their energy and collapse.
