I came out to my childhood best friend today over email. I've known him since I was five.

Haven't heard back yet but I think it'll probably be fine. Hopefully going to see him in person in about a month and really looking forward to it. It's been probably 5 years since I saw him in person last.

NGL, there's a part of me that's already bracing for the "No. Really? You too?!?" reply. 😅 I've never noticed anything eggy about him but, with my track record... 🤔

Well, that could have gone worse. His response was pretty flat. Not exactly overflowing with support but it was... Fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️

He also dropped a few tidbits in there which IDK what to do with. I suspect our conversation in February is gonna be interesting. 🤔

@faithisleaping In some ways the flat responses are the most difficult. 💐

Basic models of flocking behavior are controlled by three simple rules: 1) separation: avoid crowding neighbours (short range repulsion); 2) alignment: steer towards average heading of neighbors; 3) cohesion: steer towards average position of neighbors (long range attraction). With these three simple rules, the flock moves in an extremely realistic way.
