@fritzt @tillybridges Thank you, both. 😂
Though, now a weekend of epic poetry consumption and a lifetime of too much anime has me imagining Grendel and his mother keeping themselves busy in their underwater hall with giant games of jan ken pon (🪨📄✂️).

Lurid 1970’s Samurai Cinema
Sigh. I didn’t know where to turn next.
The Samurai series?
Zatoichi?
The Criterion Channel is an embarrassment or riches.
So, naturally, I had to pivot: #WhoRulesTheWorld on Netflix. Twenty-eight hours of will-they-won’t-they #wuxia dramatics, complete with proto-ninjas and questionable child actors. Also, roast duck.
@ValerieMars @Natasha_Jay I think after a certain point it becomes so hard because you realize there is no “old self” to go back to. There never was. Eventually you realize they were always a ghost, formless. You can’t go back to pretending to be something empty when you’ve got mass and shape and reality to yourself.
I was never a man, he didn’t exist. If I ever tried to become a man I’d be transitioning, not detransitioning. There is no where to go back to.
Mira Bellwether, author of Fucking Trans Women, died today. The world is poorer for her absence.
@semidetached I have had my reservations, but the lists make it indispensable to me.
@semidetached I found myself clapping along with the audience at the end of that scene. 😂 Chibi looked at me like I had gone mad.
I’ve been reading Rhyme’s Rooms: The Architecture of Poetry by Brad Leithauser.
It’s my mid-life attempt to compensate for having dropped out of my freshman #poetry course (and thereby aborted my English degree). I dropped out because I couldn’t “hear” syllable stress the way the other students could; scansion might as well have been foreign magic for how much difficulty it caused me.
This is a fun book. I’ve consumed it slowly, and I’ve learned a lot. Unfortunately, one of the things I’ve learned is that I really don’t seem to hear these things the same way that others do. Oh well. At least I now know why the only volume of poetry I own was a gift. 🤷♀️📚
Oh my, a whole list of #bakeneko (demon/ghost cat) films.
https://letterboxd.com/threepenny/list/bakeneko-or-ghost-cat-viewing-list/
This is why I love #Letterboxd so much: every #film is a gateway to hand-curated lists of conceptually-related films—genealogies along every imaginable vector.
@semidetached 😍 I don’t know what it was, but Deanna Durbin was mesmerizing in that role. And what a set up!! Who knew flights to SF could suffer such gothic interruptions!?!?
@semidetached I love the idea of this person being me tonight!
@revoluciana And now so too are we! 🎶
People who fuck up lots but can't admit their mistakes will be the ones begging to see people they wronged, when near death.
I work with elderly in LTCs. I hear ALL the #regrets from people on their deathbeds.
Please, don't leave words unsaid, no matter what. If you can speak up before deathbed days - PLEASE DO IT.
OKAY I fixed it so that it says "An LGBTQ+ Ally" instead of the Energy Star thing.
I need to find the on-board flashing tool and stop yanking the EEPROM out all the time before I accidentally break it.
