AP African American history ought to be enough of a mask off moment to wake up anyone who thought this was about some kind of historically unstable, politically charged courses. This is the got dammed college board and all the most moderate of moderate and boring voices in history.

@RADC @futurebird When I was in law school, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to take a class on voting rights.
There is no simple answer to your question, but registration requirements, polling place locations, voting tests, re-districting, fear, coercion, and confusion all play a part in voter disenfranchisement.
Also, the Supreme Court gutting the Voting Rights Act, which was designed to protect against many of these vectors.

@nicole @futurebird I can verify that becoming a citizen and attending the ceremony we were all required to sign a document stating our political affiliation before the ceremony began I checked independent because I was not educated to make that decision yet The ONLY restriction that put on me was the inability to vote in a primary election I had to choose a side BUT it did not stop me from voting for the President. I don’t believe these restrictions are valid
