@a0dbxza I haven’t watched this one in twenty plus years, but I remember it as a revelatory experience for younger me.

@nicole After I saw 'Ugetsu' I found a short film that connects both films, It's called 'Crossing of Time: Marker and Mizoguchi's Ghosts' at

"When considering a dialogue between these two films, we see how cinema can generate its own ghosts: in both films the dead and the living coexist"

@a0dbxza Ugetsu’s actually on my short list for rewatches right now. Let me rewatch that and then I’ll dip in here: super curious. 🙌

@a0dbxza @nicole I caught this a few months ago and admired the analysis. Thank you.

@a0dbxza @nicole Photo of where the Crossing (Tokyo x Paris) settles down for sips of sake and recollections of the many directors that have hung out there, incl. most often Marker himself--

@a0dbxza @nicole Love this movie. Also love hearing Chris Marker talk about Vertigo.

Basic models of flocking behavior are controlled by three simple rules: 1) separation: avoid crowding neighbours (short range repulsion); 2) alignment: steer towards average heading of neighbors; 3) cohesion: steer towards average position of neighbors (long range attraction). With these three simple rules, the flock moves in an extremely realistic way.
