Three concept art by the legendary Chris Foss for Jodorowsky's Dune (canceled circa 1975) and Alien (1979) are up in auction right now!

@TheSpaceshipper when you see art up for auction that’s already been burned into your brain for 30 years. 😳

@TheSpaceshipper I did not expect to win. Now I need to figure out how to get it out of Paris. 😂

@TheSpaceshipper I believe this is now the single most-expensive thing I own.

The juxtaposition between Alien (my favorite film) and Jodorowsky’s Dune made it impossible to resist.

I remember a different version of this sketch from the supplements in the Alien laserdisc boxed set from the 90’s. I don’t usually give in to nostalgia, but it does carry some weight!

Basic models of flocking behavior are controlled by three simple rules: 1) separation: avoid crowding neighbours (short range repulsion); 2) alignment: steer towards average heading of neighbors; 3) cohesion: steer towards average position of neighbors (long range attraction). With these three simple rules, the flock moves in an extremely realistic way.
