Excited the stress dreams about seeing my dad’s side of the family have already started. I’m sure he’ll be kind enough to ease me into the misgendering though.
@rooster I know it’s hard. but it’s also unacceptable. if it keeps happening it’s because it’s intentional, and if it’s intentional you have to ask if those are the kind of people you need in your life. I see so many of us struggle with this, but you’re not required to keep people in your life who intentionally hurt you. I hope they can be better people. 💜
@tillybridges@rooster and now that I’ve had coffee, the actual thought I meant to add:
Sometimes you have to put distance between yourself and the people you’ve known to make room for the people you will come to know. That goes for families as well.
Basic models of flocking behavior are controlled by three simple rules: 1) separation: avoid crowding neighbours (short range repulsion); 2) alignment: steer towards average heading of neighbors; 3) cohesion: steer towards average position of neighbors (long range attraction). With these three simple rules, the flock moves in an extremely realistic way.
